Increase the Value of Your Property During COVID-19

If you want to sell your home but don’t know what to do during the “Safer at Home” ordinance, Corona-Virus Pandemic, we have a few suggestions. First and foremost, your health and safety take priority. If selling isn’t essential/necessary, we recommend waiting and really diving into these suggestions. All these tips will help increase the value of your home, now and in the future.

In today’s selling market, cleanliness is ESSENTIAL. More than likely, if a buyer is stepping into your home, they NEED to buy, NOW. Just as you may be reluctant to have buyers in your home, buyers are worried and have concerns about their health and safety, too. So, when a buyer steps into your home, you want them to feel safe, immediately. This will help them relax and ease into the buying process. Your home will, literally, shine above the rest

So start cleaning, decluttering and finish that HONEY DO list! All are extremely important.

We recommend DECLUTTERING, first.

Clear counter tops, bathroom sinks, and floor space.

Organize your pantry, cabinets, drawers, and closets.

PURGE, PURGE, PURGE!

Once you have organized and purged you can use the extra space to put additional items away.

Any items that you want to keep but aren’t using regularly, pack it or bag it up, label it and store it in the garage, attic, under the bed….anywhere to create open spaces.

Now that you have decluttered, start working on that HONEY DO list and repair broken items around your home. Don’t forget to replace light bulbs that aren’t working.

CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! Take your daily/weekly cleaning to the next level. Dust furniture, vacuum carpets, clean mirrors and windows, wipe down ceiling fan blades, bathroom ceiling fans, baseboards and window sills, mop floors, FIND THE GRIME! Check out your walls. Wipe them down and scrub a little harder on those heavy traffic areas, you know, the areas where your toddler wipes his/her hands down the hallway. Clean cabinet doors and knobs. Buyers will still want to see inside closets and cabinets. If doors and knobs aren’t cleaned, it may become a stop sign for potential buyers. Light switches and outlets can get pretty dirty. Don’t forget those details.

This all pays off. This work will not only be seen but felt. People not only see cleanliness, they feel it. Feeling clean is HUGE! Right now, everyone is sensitive and want to feel safe, comfortable, and relaxed.

At the end of the day, this is how we all feel in our own home, safe, comfortable, and relaxed. This feeling will go a long way when showing your home to prospective buyers.

The good news is, creating this type of space will also make you feel good. We are happy to create a plan that will best meet your needs and goals. During this strange time, WE ARE BY YOUR SIDE!
